Conejito or hare is an animal full of movement, emanating quickness but also stillness, its appearance reflecting seasonal rhythms. It transforms to protect itself from predators, going from dark to light as the climate changes. While the hare can be explosive and playful, it can also embody the quiet of winter, with the snow falling gently in the calm silence of the forest. Living in Montreal, we have to learn to embrace the differences of the seasons, living some of the coldest and snowiest winters of any large city in the world, punctuated by brief, wonderful, summers. We wanted to invoke these different energies in the song.
